Our Responsibility
Costa Rica Secure Site S.A., (its owners, associates, agents and employees) manifest that they assume no responsibility for any injury, loss or damage to person or property in connection with any service resulting directly or indirectly from acts of nature, detention, annoyance, delays and expenses arising from quarantine, strikes, thefts, pilferage, irregularity, failure of any means of conveyance to arrive or depart as scheduled, civil disturbances, government restrictions or regulations, discrepancies or change in transportation service, hotel services, domestic and international flights, car rentals or tours over which we have no control.
Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. will not be held responsible for any loss of life, personal injury, cancellations, delays, over-bookings, loss or damage of baggage and/or loss of services as a result of the same caused by any domestic flights, hotel stays, car rentals, transportation service or tours within Costa Rica from third parties involved in the operation. Some trip packages or itineraries will require domestic flights, car rentals, bus or van transportation that will be arranged through Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. by contracting the services from third parties.
In the event that customers decide to book a trip package or itinerary that requires any domestic flight, hotel accommodations, car rentals, transportation service or tours within Costa Rica, Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. will not assume responsibility for cancellations, delays, over bookings, or any loss of services from any of the parties involved in the operation.
Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. reserves the right to adjust the U.S. dollar prices without previous notice, to reflect fluctuations in the Foreign Exchange Markets. Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. also reserves the right to withdraw a trip or any part of it, to make such alterations in the trip package or itinerary as it deems necessary for the comfort or well-being of the participants and to pass on to the client any expenditure or losses caused by delays or events beyond our control.
With advance purchase or pre-payment to Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. or any of its agents, the depositor therefore agrees to be bound by the terms and conditions on this page.
Customer Liability
It is the customer's responsibility to make all of their connection and check in times on time. Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. assumes NO RESPONSIBILITY for a customer arriving late or being a "NO SHOW" due to any problem of personal nature or with the services provided by any of our vendors. The customer is also obliged to have the proper travel documents. When traveling from any country outside of Costa Rica we strongly recommend to check with the immigration department or the closest Costa Rica consulate to find out if any other documentation is needed before booking a trip package or have Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. build your itinerary.
Hotels Accommodation Responsibility
Passengers are bound to keep the propriety and respect that any accommodation business will relate to as their terms and conditions. Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. will not be held responsible for early departures nor will Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. refund money due to personal problems with hotel staff or policies inside the facilities of a hotel. Check in and check out times should be taken in consideration since we will not be responsible in case of a failure in either of them due to the customer’s fault.
Tour Responsibility
Passengers will be under the terms and conditions from each one of our tour suppliers, but in general, you need to maintain the safety and well-being of the whole group during a tour. We will not be held responsible for a cancellation, alteration or exclusion in a tour due to rude or dangerous behavior from customers.
Car Rental Responsibility
Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. is acting as third party agent. Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. Will NOT pay or collect any insurance monies from the client. The mandatory insurance for all rented vehicles and any additional insurance will be the responsibility of the client and will be purchased by the client from the actual car rental company when the car rental contract is signed between client and the car rental company. Damages to the vehicle, third party vehicles or any other damage caused by any type of accident under any sort of circumstances will be settled by the client and the car rental company. Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. will not be held responsible for events caused by these situations.
Domestic Flight Responsibility
Due to space on the aircrafts it is mandatory that each passenger carries a maximum of 2 bags per person NOT exceeding 25 pounds combined (This is watched closely). We recommend that clients leave any excess luggage in the hotel’s storage room and/or coordinate with our operations staff for the required assistance on this matter, but Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. will not be held responsible for any loss or damage of the luggage. Clients must be at the local terminals or local airports at least 45 minutes before the local flight leaves to check in. Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. will not be held responsible for delays or missing any flights due to a third party or any customer’s problem. All expenses from that point on will be covered by the customer.
Bus Shuttle Responsibility
Passengers are bound to show up 10 minutes prior to time for shuttle bus transfers and due to space in the shuttle bus, passengers are required to carry a maximum of one bag and one handbag per person. We recommend that clients leave any excess luggage in the hotel’s storage room and/or coordinate with our operations staff for the required assistance on this matter, but Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. will not be held responsible for any loss or damage of the luggage. Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. will not be held responsible for delays or missing any shuttle bus due to a third party or any customer’s problem. All expenses from that point on will be covered by the customer.
Medical, Health & Personal Insurance
Customers with existing medical conditions should make them known to Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. at the time of booking any trip package or itinerary before their arrival to Costa Rica, as clients may be traveling to some of the most remote places in Costa Rica. Under certain circumstances, evacuation could be prolonged, difficult, expensive or virtually impossible. Clients should take special care for any such conditions prior arrival to Costa Rica.
Hospital facilities can be found through out Costa Rica and their medical services are excellent however Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. assumes no liability for any such medical service or any costs related to any evacuation or provision of medical care if needed.
Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. strongly recommends that all clients purchase a short-term traveler’s insurance covering baggage, accident/life and or trip cancellations before arriving to Costa Rica. This insurance is very affordable in your country of origin.
In such event that Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. cancels
Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. reserves the right to cancel any trip package, itinerary or any part of a client’s itinerary due to insufficient sign-ups, over bookings, or anything else resulting directly or indirectly from the situations stated in the section called our Responsibility.
In the event of such a cancellation, any client with pre-paid reservations or guaranteed confirmations shall be notified as soon as possible and a full refund of any payments on the un-used portion of transportation service, hotel service, domestic air flight, car rental or tours within Costa Rica will be given. Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. and participating agents are not responsible for any expenses incurred by the client or for non-refundable air tickets, equipment, medical costs, etc.
Customer Conduct
Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. and its designated representatives reserve the right to disqualify, remove or ban any person at any time from any transportation service, hotel, domestic air flight, car rental or tour even though they purchased the trip package or itinerary, should such person’s actions or general deportment impede the operation of any services being rendered or impede the rights, welfare, safety or enjoyment of others. Refunds are usually not given under these circumstances. In such extraordinary instances when a refund is granted, it is agreed that a refund based on the actual cost of the unused land services is the limit of Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. responsibility.
Reservation Requirements and Cancellations
Holiday Booking Periods
You can make reservations at any time according to space availability but holidays seasons in Costa Rica have EXTREMELY HEAVY booking periods and are booked months in advance in many cases. In order to guarantee your holiday bookings we require the following:
-50% Deposit is required at the time of booking
-Balance is due in full 60 days or more prior to your arrival date
Non-Holiday Booking Periods
- 50% Deposit is required at the time of booking
- Balance is due in full 30 days prior to your arrival date
These payment policies might vary according to the properties included in the trip itinerary.
In the case of any cancellation
All cancellations must be received into our office in writing either by email to info@costaricasecuresite.com by fax (506) 256-2574. Our company does not want to make money on any unfortunate cancellation but please understand that we do need to cover the cost of our Travel Advisors working with you, our confirmation department who confirm your trip and our accounting department which handles all of the monetary transactions for your trip. When a cancellation occurs we have performed all of the steps to book services for you and a cancellation means we must follow almost the same steps to cancel the reservations for you.
No reimbursement will apply in those cases in which cancellations for individuals are made within less than 48 hours before the arrival of the client. For cancellations made with more anticipation, Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. will return the deposit received according to the policies of the suppliers less a cancellation administration fee of up to $100.00.
For group cancellations, Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. will return the deposit received if the cancellation is made at least 45 days before the arrival of the group and according to policies of the suppliers. On the contrary, the reimbursements will be subject to the policies of the suppliers less a cancellation administration fee of up to $250.00.
Privacy Statement
Costa Rica Secure Site S.A. will not disclose any Personal Information of the passengers to third parties. All information we receive will be used only to confirm services included in the package or itinerary. All credit card information received from our clients is sent by the customer through a secure socket layer credit card form that is encrypted to insure maximum security for our customers. We do not sell the data to third parties.
We also instruct our staff as per our Internal Labor Code to be discrete and do not reveal any personal information to anyone except the person whose name is the reservation under.
